Employees of the Genetic Resources Institute of ANAS was attended in the training course in Great Britain

Chief specialist of Department on International Relations, Information and Coordination of the Genetic Resources Institute (GRI) of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), candidate for a degree Ilhama Mirzaliyeva and employee of the Germplasm Laboratory Saida Rashidova have been on a 13 day scientific trip in London, the UK.

Researchers participated in the international training course titled “On processes after collection of crop wild relatives of cultivated plants” in Kew Millennium Seed Bank. Scientists and specialists from countries cooperating with Kew Millennium Seed Bank also attended the training course.

Co-organised by Global Crop Diversity Trust and Kew Millennium Seed Bank,the training course set as one of the main goals study of preparatory processes for storing in active and corecollections plants collected from wild places, X-ray and CUT test alalysis, as well as germinate tests according to the plant type and number.

In addition, participants familiarized themselves with BRAHMS software providing an integrated management system for herbaria and learned how to use it. On the sidelines of this scientific trip, two participants visited Herbarium of Kew Millennium Seed Bank in Richmond, the UK.
