A preliminary discussion of the dissertation submitted by Nazli Surkhay Babayeva for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Biology was held at an extended scientific seminar of the relevant departments of the Genetic Resources Institute, Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The researcher presented her dissertation entitled “Screening of Resistance Genes to Pear Scab (Venturia pyrina Aderh.) in Cultivated Pear Genotypes in Azerbaijan and the Use of Selected Forms in Breeding” in the field of Genetics.

During the discussion, seminar participants shared their views and the researcher answered questions regarding the study. The research was positively evaluated by the specialists, and its further discussion at the next stage was considered appropriate.
